I feel your pain precisely, dear Quasimodo .
Just last night I was watching a recording of the PBS Frontline episode which explored a drastic increase in severe black lung disease found in West Virginia coal miners:

To realize we have again repeated that egregious error simply floors me. I’ve been in a funk all day thinking about it.
And the Tangerine Menace wants more coal . . .
I entered a self imposed Facebook exile around four years ago to avoid precisely the types of disillusionment and profound disappointment that you are currently experiencing. The world is indeed topsy-turvy right now.
We should not, however, succumb to the notion that this is the first time this sort of thing has happened. If anything, it helps us understand some of the truly mad and regrettable chapters in our collective human history.
