I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues
There was this book, BFoundAPen, published in 1998, called Websites That Suck. It was a great learning resource, teaching the attentive reader by counter-example.
Some people are like that -- exemplars of what NOT to do.
Louis Armstrong, on the other hand, set the gold standard for what a boy without a father can become. Although he sired no children of his own, Louis and his first wife adopted a disabled boy. Louis cared for the boy the rest of his life. He loved children and even made provision for a a child he may have fathered but wasn’t sure.
Louis learned a lot about love and how to be a good person from his grandmother, his ma, and some kindly folks that became a sort of surrogate family.
