I was rooting for Olivia. The Favourite was such a deliciously interesting, strange, and beautiful film. Fortunately, I’d read very little about it in advance, so the lesbian was a pleasant surprise.

It’s difficult to stomach the Academy overlooking both Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton, two of my personal favorites.

We are lucky that all of these performances are preserved forever now. I’d hate to imagine the world without Lawrence of Arabia or The Lion in Winter.
